Overview

Charterers P&I is a distinct and separate product from Ship Owners P&I. A charterer — whether under a time charter or voyage charter — does not own the vessel, but assumes significant liability exposure during the charter period. The shipowner's P&I policy does not cover the charterer's liabilities.

Key charterer exposures include: cargo claims under bills of lading issued by the charterer, pollution liability during the charter period, liabilities assumed under charter party indemnity clauses, and collision or damage arising from the charterer's navigation instructions.

Amana Marine provides fixed-premium Charterers P&I cover tailored to the specific liability profile of time and voyage charterers.
